13th-14th century AD. A hollow-formed bronze incense burner representing a crouching feline (lion?) with feet resting on a tongue-shaped base, hinged lid forming the neck and head with hinge to the chest, pierced eyes and mouth. 371 grams, 12.5cm (5"). From the private collection of a North West London lady; previously with a central London gallery; formerly acquired before 1990.
