**First Time At Auction**
Western Europe, Great Britain, England, Victorian Era, ca. mid-19th to early 20th century CE. A hand-tailored lancer officer's coat presenting with its distinctive crimson-red hue. The cuffs, tail, and breast are lined with buttons bearing the British Royal Crown, and the neckline features pale yellow lace around a black stripe. The original tailor's label is visible inside the collar and reads, "Rogers & Company, 8 New Burlington Street, London, W.1., Lt. A.M. Turner." Size (breast): 13.75" W (34.9 cm); (shoulder to shoulder): 17.5" W (44.4 cm); (sleeves): 23.5" L (59.7 cm); (collar to tail): 31" H (78.7 cm); (buttons): 0.875" Diameter (2.2 cm)

Fraying and tearing to interior lining, with one shoulder button missing and one breast button replaced, areas of light staining to back, breast, and sleeves, a couple of petite puncture holes, and losses to attached elements on left breast. Wearable as shown.
