Latin America, Mexico, ca. 20th century CE. A lovely trio of decorative blackware vessels: one a pot with openwork floral motifs on its shoulder perched atop three thin legs, signed "Dona Rosa, Coyo Tepec, Oaxaca, Mexico", another a spouted jug with a thin neck and handle, and the third an olla with an incised fern decoration around its shoulder. Size of largest (olla): 6.75" W x 5.9" H (17.1 cm x 15 cm)
Dona Rosa (active in the 20th century until her death in 1980) was a famous ceramics artist who invented a technique, barro negro, for creating a distinctive, shiny black surface on her pottery.
Provenance: private Los Angeles, California, USA collection, 1980s-2000s

Condition
The jug has a small loss from the top of its spout; otherwise all are in nice condition with some old collection labels and minor deposits.
