West Africa, Nigeria, Yoruba, ca. mid 20th century. A Yoruba king's belt wall hanging covered with colorful glass trade beads intricately sewn to depict stylized human faces/masks and animals - all trimmed with cowrie shells. On the verso is a handwoven fabric back and there is a suspension loop atop comprised of sky blue seed beads. Size: 50.625" L x 6.375" W (128.6 cm x 16.2 cm)
