**First Time At Auction**
Native American, Native Alaskan, Inuit, ca. first half of the 20th century CE. A wonderful model of an Inuit canoe with an intricately constructed interior wooden framework lined on the exterior with a smooth caribou hide. The single-occupant canoe features a slanted opening for the sailor's legs, pointed ends for moving effortlessly through the currents, and a rounded bottom to replicate the overall form of a larger canoe. Included are three petite canoe accessories including a double-sided paddle, a straight harpoon with a bound retrieval line, and a barbed harpoon head carved from caramel-hued wood. Size: 13.55" L x 1.5" W x 1.45" H (34.4 cm x 3.8 cm x 3.7 cm)
