Platinum double diamond ring with sapphires, c1925. 2.1 dwt. This ring has two central diamonds, that gauge approximately 1 carat each, and might range from .92 to 1.05cts.The diamonds were cut in the same period as the ring, with culets cut off, in the old European method, used from 1910 to 1940.The tops are higher than the modern brilliant cuts, the table is smaller.Both diamonds are very clean.Color is H-I with the side stones more G-H.There are 20 .03ct round single cuts, and two round .05ct full cuts.Side stone diamond quality is excellent.There are two tapered(probably synthetic) sapphires, one has a crack lower down.There is a large chip to one of the diamonds, the slightly smaller one, that starts at the girdle and goes up to the edge of the table and stops.Visible with a 10x loupe, not so noticeable from the viewer to the hand.There is worn inscription inside the shank, barely legible.The metal tests platinum.This ring is size 6.
