Amazing hand carved Victorian Whitby Jet Multi-Strand Necklace with additional jet hand-carved beads hanging from 3 different strands.......I've never seen one like this before!

Circa 1840's to 1880's ....

this necklace is made of 27 different strands of each hand-carved jet beads....

three of those strands have big hand-carved jet beads (5 on each for a total of 15)...

This necklace measures from 12 to 16 inches because it is graduated and has another 3 1/2 inch extender to make it a bit longer...

This Necklace fastens with a hook closure so you can adjust the length, which appears to be gold filled over brass typical of this period....

I think it's just as easy to add more chain if you desired to make this piece a couple inches longer...

This piece could be worn as a choker or as a necklace!
