DESCRIPTION: Three airplane relics, framed behind anti-glare glass in displays with prints. Includes: 1) Wright Ex "Vin Fiz" which made the first U.S. transcontinental flight in 1911. Piloted by Calbraith Perry Rodgers. Piece of original fabric measures 2" square. 2) Curtiss NC-4, the first plane to complete a trans-Atlantic flight over 19 days in 1919. Commanding Officer Albert C. Read, USN; Pilots Lt. Elmer F. Stone, USCG and Lt. Walter Hinton, USN. Piece of original fabric measures 2-1/4" x 2". 3) Douglas World Cruiser #2 "Chicago", the flag plane of the first around-the-world flight from April 6 to September 28, 1924. Piloted by Lts. Lowell H. Smith and Leslie P. Arnold. Piece of original fabric measures 2" square. MEASUREMENTS: Each frame 21-1/4" high x 16-1/4" wide. CONDITION: No defects noted.
