Yongzheng, circa 1725; historically important plate, poking fun at South Sea Company over speculation of property, which lead to financial crisis in England & Holland, plate in Doucai colors featuring harlequin jester on tiled floor, with Dutch caption,"Pardie al myn Actien kwyt,' which translates as "By God I Lost All My Shares,' with gilt clobbering, sixth plate in a series of six, 8 1/4 in. Diam. From the collection of Philip S. Dubey, noted Asian scholar and antiquarian.
