A large Gandharan stone head, Indus Valley, c. 3rd - 4th Century AD. This fine fragment is 3 in (7.6 cm) high and is carved from the blue-gray schist characteristic of the region. It depicts a man with an intricately detailed coif held with a headband. Ex Los Angeles private collection.
