A nice Gandharan stone oil lamp, Indus Valley, c. 3rd - 4th Century AD, nicely detailed and carved from the gray schist characteristic of the area. It is decorated with triangular flanges on the sides and incised linear decor. 4 1/8 x 3 1/8 in (10.4 x 7.9 cm). Heavy mineral deposits. Ex Los Angeles private collection.
