Description
A pair of Roman and Byzantine rings. Lot includes a Roman bronze ring with an image on an eagle in intaglio within the small circular bezel, 13 x 25 mm, the second is a Byzantine bronze ring, c. 6th - 12th Century AD, the large round bezel with a shield device, concentric circles at center and hatching around the sides, incised lines and semicircles around, 19 x 23 x 20 mm. Ring sizes 8 1/2 and 7 1/2 respectively. Both well preserved and attractive. Ex collection of Peter Cheremisinoff, NJ.
