For your consideration is an exceptionally rare Commedia Dell'Arte figure of Captain Spaventa by Flavio Poli for Seguso. This figure is one of five we will be offering at this auction - all from the same collection. This figure of the Captain was created between 1938-40 while Poli was the artistic director at Seguso Vetri d'Arte. The details in these offerings are simply spectacular and show masterful zanfirico designs and composition. No markings are noted, but these figures are well-documented.

Source: Rossella Junck Gallery, Venice Italy.(a copy of gallery inventory included in each auction)

These figures were purchased by a retired Army officer stationed at Camp Darby in Tirrenia, Italy, in the late 1950's or early 1960's.
