Description
18th century Beit Horin V'hu Sedar Haggadah Shel Pesach. with the commentaries of Rabbis Moses Alsheikh (d. after 1593), Judah Loew ben Bezalel (1525-1609), Solomon Ephraim of Luntshits (1550-1619).
Metz (Moise May), Joseph Antoine (1767).
A wide-margined copy of the first illustrated Haggadah printed in France.
Copperplate engraved title page 9 additional copperplate engravings, missing the 10th (map).
Written in Hebrew and commentaries in Rashi Script.
Ownership annotations to front end and rear end-papers, one owner dated 1818 (view photo).
Dimensions: 7 5/8 in. x 10 in.
Condition: good overall condition, lacking the folding map, upper left hand corner of engraved-title page lacking, scattered staining noted, text block loose, gilt stamped red-dyed vellum covers worn.
