Canada, Alberta folklore: In the early 1940s, Robert Gard came to Alberta from the US to teach play-writing at the Banff School of Fine Arts. The next year, he toured the province, gathering stories - it was the first time Alberta folklore had been captured in book form. Gard invents Johnny Chinook as his Alberta muse.

Hard boards, original publisher’s cloth with green lettering on spine; 5.1/2” x 8”; the endpapers are maps; 360 pages, vintage library stamps on the first blank page, title page and outer bottom edge of the pages, very good condition.
