THE AUTHOR HAD ORIGINALLY 1200 PAGES FOR THE BOOK, THEY HAD TO BE SHORTENED TO 698 PAGES.
SHE ALSO REQUESTED THAT NO PHOTOGRAPHS OF HER WOULD BE INCLUDED IN THE BOOK, AS SHE WAS THE LEADING FIGURE IN THE STRUGGLE FOR WOMAN'S RIGHTS, HER PHOTO WAS INCLUDED.
DOUBLE PAGE COLOR PLATE OF THE W.C.T.U. STATE FLAG IN CENTER OF BOOK. The author became the leader of the 200000-strong Womans Christian Temperance Union during the 19th century, after a career in teaching.
In the WCTUs 15th year, and Willards 50th, members wanted her to write this book of her life, and about WCTU.
They wanted a truthful rendition.
