This artwork of Len Dawson, Kansas City Chiefs is a wonderful original painting from a big time sports memorabilia collector and artist, Mike Swanton. Little can be found on Swanton, but there is an article found on helmethut.com with some of Swanton's story. He started sketching players from the New York Jets and Giants in 1970. Eventually he expanded and started drawing other players from other teams and trading them for signed game balls and other signed memorabilia. His drawings became pretty well known and in 1977, his original art was used for the Football Register and a drawing he did of Thurman Munson was used on the cover of Official Baseball Dope Book. This piece is signed at dated by Swanton and also dedicated to Mike by Len Dawson. It is mounted on heavy board and ready to be framed. Actual image measures approx 13 1/2" x 10 3/4".
