In ancient times people used cameos to depict an ethic/moral, or to make a statement about their faith or loyalties. In fact, at different points in history cameos have been worn as frequently by men. In this 12th collection each piece varies from Greek and Roman mythology, biblical event's, women, men, living heroes or rulers, and so much more given in greater detail by their individual titles.

Inspired by the Etruscan period, hand carved from wax, then cast in sterling silver and plated in 14 kt gold vermeil..

The square face of the ring features the profile of Alexander III of Macedon, commonly refered to as Alexander the Great (the Greek king of Macedon, Northern Greece). The details show his head covered with the leopard skin. The sides are decorated with scrollwork and band etched, all in the ancient Etruscan style.

The rings square face measures 16 mm's by 14 mm's and the depth of the cameo, surface, and ornate base of the top measures 5 mm's thick for a great multi-dimensional view from the side...

This ring would be great for any collector of Greek mythology....

He was undefeated in battle and is considered one of the most successful commanders of all time. In 334 BC, he invaded Persian-ruled Asia Minor and began a series of campaigns lasting ten years. Alexander broke the power of Persia in a series of decisive battles, most notably the battles of Issus and Gaugamela. Subsequently, he overthrew the Persian king Darius III and conquered the entirety of the Persian Empire. The Macedonian Empire now stretched from the Adriatic sea to the Indus river. Following his desire to reach the "ends of the world and the Great Outer Sea", he invaded India in 326 BC, but was eventually forced to turn back by the near-mutiny of his troops.
