Frame: 17x10.5cm. Pierre Turin is widely considered the most accomplished Art Deco medalist.
He attended the Ecole des Beaux-Arts, where he studied under Vernon, Patey and Coutain.
In 1920 he won the Grand Prix de Rome, and was made Chevalier of the Legion d’Honneur in 1936. His most famous work is the medal for the International Exposition of Modern Industrial and Decorative Arts that gave the name to the Art Deco style.
