Joan Digby is a poet, photographer and ceramic artist. With her husband, collagist John Digby, she is co-founder of New Feral Press. Their books of illustrated poetry have been exhibited in the annual exhibition of Small Presses at Poet’s House, New York. She is the former director of the Poetry Center at LIU-Post and winner of 2018 the National Collegiate Honors Council’s prestigious “Founders Award” for her contributions to honors education.

Digby’s “storyteller” figurines depict familiar people and relationships that that are broadly gestural. They are not portraits but expression of postures, movement, and attachments that link people to each other, to animals, and to ideas that shape their lives.
