Pair of porcelain famille rose baluster form vases or urns with flared rims, applied guardian lion handles to necks and salamanders to shoulders, each with shaped reserves to either side having a yellow ground decorated withphoenixes and chrysanthemum blossoms, floral decoration throughout and lappet bands to base. Marked to underside with four character red underglaze Guangxu type mark. Approx. of one, 10.25".

Both with scattered chips to rims, one with obvious chip and repair to same area with some loss of color at mouth; small, minute flea bite to one of the wear to foot on both vases commensurate with age; glaze and firing
