Antique Quilt c1860s Pomegranate or Love Apple. 96in x 96in. 18 Pomegranate 12in x 12in blocks with 18 alternating solid blocks, set straight, 6 by 6, with one 11.5in border. Fabrics include turkey red prints and double process green solid and print. Hand appliqued, hand pieced, and hand quilted. This cotton batting with white cotton backing. Edge is finished by bringing the back to the front, and hand applying. The quilting is quite lovely, with a combination of straight parallel lines, echo quilting, and elegant feathers. In fair condition. There is some toning and spots. One small .25in tear in border. But most obvious is the deterioration of the turkey red prints. They have completely popped where the black dyed elements would have been.
