Extremely rare Pelican tray, a Kataro Shirayamadani design, cast in 1922 and covered with green over blue mat glazes. Marks include the Rookwood logo, date and shape 2601. Excellent original condition. Size is 3 3/4 inches high by 7 inches long. Listed in Nicholson and Thomas “Rookwood Pottery Bookends - Paperweights - Animal Figurals” as “Never Seen.”
