This lot consists of an unframed graphite and ink illustration on paper, done in the style of Elisabeth Frink (English, 1930-1993). Image depicts the bust of a man with leaves trailing out of his mouth and climbing up the side of his face, like ivy on a trellis. His eyes are wide and kaleidoscopic. A hauntingly beautiful addition to any collection. Handwritten inscription at lower left reads, "Frink '91". This unframed piece measures approximately 11" x 8".

Elisabeth Frink (English, 1930-1993) was a sculptor and printmaker who hailed from Suffolk. Frink received formal art training at the Guildford School of Art from 1946-1949, and then at the Chelsea School of Art from 1949-1953. Though she was an excellent draftswoman, Frink was best known for her outdoor sculptures - typically bronze - which had a distinctive surface texture. Frink exhibited her work regularly from 1955 onward, including a retrospective at the Royal Academy of Art, London, in 1985. Moreover, Elisabeth Frink has been honored as a "Woman of Achievement" selected for a set of British stamps, which were issued in August 1996. Frink's works can now be seen in major museums and public spaces across Britain and the world.
