This lot consists of a fine art lithograph on paper, done in the social realist style of Raphael Soyer (American, 1899-1987). Graphite inscriptions at bottom of composition read, "126/150" and "Raphael Soyer". Image depicts a pale woman in a patchwork dress stands barefoot with one hand on her hip, shaggy dark hair framing her green eyes. Simple country homes populate the background. A captivating addition to any collection! This unframed piece measures approximately 26" x 19".

Raphael Soyer (American, 1899-1987) was a painter, draftsman, and printmaker. His poetic, yet detailed, descriptions of people and places make him a forerunner among American scene painters. Said Soyer, “From all that I have seen, I am more than ever convinced that art must communicate, and it must represent, describe, and express people, their lives and times.”
