Description
This lot consists of a hand-drawn ink illustration on paper, done in the style of famed cartoonist Charles Schulz (American, 1922-2000). "Schulz" is hand written at bottom right. Image depicts Snoopy the beagle, decked out in his pilot gear, having a wild ride atop his signature dog house. Snoopy was an original 'Peanuts' character created by renowned comic book artist Charles Schulz, known to have flights of fancy from his very own roof. This illustration would make a bold and charming addition to any collection. Unframed piece measures approximately 10.5" x 8.25".
Charles Schulz, the artist and writer of Peanuts, became one of the wealthiest men in America by using his childhood insecurities and failures as material for his comic strip. Charlie Brown, the strips likable loser, shared more than a first name with his creator and was inspired by Schulz bittersweet memories of his Midwestern boyhood.
