Up for sale from a recent consignor in Honolulu Hawaii, this 1780 English framed hand-colored engraving depicting John Hawksworth L. L. D., One of the Editors of Cook's First Voyage & Captain James Kings, L. L. D. F. R. S., Captn. Cook's Coadjutor in his Third and Last Voyage (Portraits of Nautical English Explorers) Issued London, ca. 1778-85 by Alexander Hogg Engraved by Thornton Fine and uncommon antique portrait print of these two English men related to the explorations of Capt. Cook. The condition is described above for more information please check the photos. In case that you would like to save some money on the shipping we are happy to remove the print from the frame and ship it by itself!!!
This is one of a large group of prints that was consigned with us from the collection of a well known business in Honolulu. The pieces were hanging in a air-conditioned environment out of direct sunlight since the 1970s. They were consigned with us due to a redesigning of the office space. The values were established via the Senior Fine Arts appraiser in Honolulu in a recent appraisal and reflect the current fair market value.

“The print and frame are overall in acceptable pre-owned condition, the print was not inspected out of the frame, the inside of the glass is dirty and a framer should open it up and clean it, the print itself some toning and soiling and mat-burn in places,”
