Item Details
Description
Purchased from the Sotheby's Sale of "Property from Kennedy Family Homes" with receipt from packing and moving company dated February 7, 1963 for moving from the White House. A classic farm table dining style chair, with the seat height 17" (measured from the ground), and the overall height to the top of the chair back of 33.5" . Width across back of chair is 18.5". Most likely a soft wood with a walnut stain. Circa mid 20th century. Rush seat in need of replacing. An excellent and well used Kennedy family owned chair with impeccable provenance which would be wonderful as décor within an antique setting of a home especially when explaining that likely every famous Kennedy sat in it. Kennedy rocking chairs have fetched nearly 1/2 million dollars at auction. Here is an entry ticket to Camelot at a fraction of the price.

Provenance: Receipt from T.E. Smith and Son for wrapping, packing and shipping from the White House. Tag from Sotheby's Auction Lot 421
