**First Time At Auction**
Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Colima, ca. 300 BCE to 300 CE. A pair of hand-built pottery vessels depicting standing dogs. The first vessel features a cream-hued exterior, a projecting handle, and applied facial features. The largest vessel exhibits a bulbous body and a raised head with only a protruding snout for a face. Size of largest (bulbous body): 4.1" W x 3.9" H (10.4 cm x 9.9 cm)
Provenance: private Fort Lauderdale, Florida, USA collection; ex-Minerva Gallery; ex-Benjamin Vega, California, USA, acquired in 2006 to 2007; ex-Gene and Virginia George, brought to the USA from 1961 to 1966

Condition
Both vessels are repaired from a few large pieces, with small chips and adhesive residue along break lines. Both pieces have nicks and abrasions to bodies, legs, and heads, fading to original pigment, and light encrustations. Nice earthen deposits throughout.
