The third in a trilogy featuring Frank Braun as a protagonist, Vampire concerns Braun's transformation into a vampire after drinking the blood of his Jewish mistress. Ewers is considered important in the development of the literary horror genre, with H.P. Lovecraft and Guy Endore citing his work as an influence.
