ASIA c1730-1740 by G. M. Seutter, Augsburg, Germany. Hand colored copper plate engraved. One of the most important German map makers of the 1700's. Highlights include a misshaped Hokkaido island in northern Japan possibly due to navigators combing it with Siberia's Sakhalin Island. Fictional lakes in Burma and Tibet, partial coastline of Australia and New Guinea. Mysterious Compagnie Land (company land) possibly Alaskan coast to close to Japan. Minor damp stains in lower area.
