Description
A characteristic early 18th Century New York portrait attributed to Garardus Duyckinck. Closely relates to the Children of the Van Cortlandt Family (Brooklyn Museum.) The only known signed and dated painting by Duyckninck is dated 1713. This portrait may be original to the 1711 Kinderhook building. This work is unsigned and was lined and restored with a replaced stretcher at some point in the past. Dimensions: (Frame) H 35 " x W 29.5" (Painting) H 30" x W 25" Condition: Cleaned and restored. Areas of paint rubbing in the background.
