(Ballantine, 1977) A very rare complete first edition print set titled "The Star Wars Portfolio." Containing (21) high-quality prints featuring the original paintings by Ralph McQuarrie, this highly sought-after set includes McQuarrie's stunning concepts which became the inspiration for the sets and costumes of the original Star Wars. This particular set comes from the collection of Bill Wallen, who helped create promotional and advertising campaigns for the film. Each print measures 11"x14" and has scarcely been removed from the portfolio cover since 1977. The condition is good overall, with minor handling wear to the prints, and some slight yellowing around the edges from age. There are a few creases and some edge-wear to the portfolio cover. The paper tab on the reverse has a small tear.
