Ca. 1900, 65 x 121 cm, Central Asia, South Tibet
A saddle bottom rug. Two halves woven separately in a design of frog motifs (alternative term: seven-finger pine) and vines on a brown ground, joined by a wide fabric panel. Accentuated, plain green and light blue centre. A white border of blue stems and red cloudbands. – Slight signs of age and wear, good overall condition. The red fabric edging along the sides is worn in places.
