Russian Bond signed by once the Richest Man on Earth, and the Richest Among the Rothschilds
Russian Empire, 5% Bond for 720 Roubles = £111, issued 1822, original signature of famous Jewish German banker Nathan Rothschild, as so often in heavily used condition with folds as well as four larger tears at centerfolds and minor margin damages. Rothschild raised blind seal in bottom right. 2pp., single leaf. 14.25" x 9.75"

Nathan Mayer, Freiherr von Rothschild (1777-1836) was a Jewish German banker, businessman and financier. He was one of five sons of the second generation of the Rothschild banking dynasty. First operating as a textile merchant in Manchester, he moved on to deal on the London stock exchange in financial instruments such as foreign bills and government securities. He was engaged in the arrangement of many government loans (e.g. Prussia, Russia, England and Spain).
