While in hiding from French Revolution authorities, he wrote what would become some of the most important works in developing the French Enlightenment. Condorcet covered a wide variety of topics but focused primarily on philosophy, science, and Christianity, and finding a balance between the three. This 1790 collection of Condorcet works includes his studies on famous philosophers Adam Smith, John Locke, J.J. Rousseau, Voltaire, and David Hume.
