Description
1780 1ed Pennsylvania Quaker Journal John Griffith Wales Ireland America Travels
John Griffith was a Welshman raised in Pennsylvania, where he joined the Society of Friends and became a worker for the Quakers. He returned to England and settled in Essex. His journal, published posthumously, includes accounts of his travels in Ireland, Suffolk, Essex, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and many other places in America and England.
This 1780 first edition of Griffith’s journal was published alongside his ‘Brief Remarks on Important Subjects’, printed together in 1781. These two works were commonly found published together as they were from the same Philadelphia publisher. In this short book, Griffith discusses parenting, true worship of God, recognizing false ministries, importance of Christian discipline, and the nature of experiencing ‘new birth’
