Vintage Signed Mexican Sterling Silver Abalone & Enamel Sombrero Pin. This miniature, sombrero pin is in very good condition with minor surface wear and tarnish to the back of the pin, as shown. Believed to Mexican and circa 1970's-80's it is made from sterling silver and embellished with slices of abalone on a black enamel background. The craftsmanship on such a small piece is very fine; especially the way the silver has been incised to mimick embroidery. The roll over "c" clasp is in good working order as is the pin, which has a slight bend, as shown. The back is stamped "G.C.01" and "925". This whimsical brooch is approximately 1 1/4" long x 3/4" wide and weighs 2 gms.
