Vintage 1940's "Co-Star" Gold Plated Sterling Base Amethyst Glass Sweetheart Expansion Bracelet. This Vintage Sweetheart Expansion Bracelet is in very condition for its age with surface wear, some tarnish and a darkened patina to the metal as shown. The faceted glass amethyst heart sparkles nicely in its bezel set ornate frame. There are several surface scratches to the stone, visible upon magnification. The engraved links of the stretch bracelet are aligned and have retained their elasticity. The inside of the band is stamped "Co-Star Sterling Base". It is approximately 1 3/4" in diameter and will stretch to a ccommodate a small to medium wrist comfortably. Sweetheart bracelets were made during war times, between 1940-1950, and given by soldiers to their girlfriends and wives; hence the name.
