Antique Victorian or Edwardian Silver Horse Shoe and Whippet Dog Brooch Pin. This whimsical, Victorian or Edwardian silver brooch depicting a running whippet or greyhound in a horse-shoe frame is good condition with surface and use wear commensurate with age. It has a great dark patina and has not been polished. The "c" clasp is partially worn off, as shown, and the hinged pin is somewhat loose. As such, the pin is being sold AS IS for parts/repair. As was the case for many small, silver items from this era, the brooch is unmarked, but tested as silver. It is approximately 1 1/4" x 1" and weighs 6 gms. A great period piece and subject matter appealing to dog and horse lovers!
