Description: John Dorish original etching and aquatint, Easel in the Park II. Signed by hand by the artist, titled and numbered, this largely monochromatic work depicts Dorish's favorite theme of a view of Manhattan from Central Park, enlivened by a hand-colored easel positioned on the bottom third of the canvas. This original work of art is printed upon hand-made, pure rag paper, set in a gorgeous, silver colored frame. John Dorish is a Greenwich Village based artist whose paintings and etchings reflect the drama and mood of the city around him. Born in Pittsburgh, PA, he had no formal art training and sold his first paintings while a student at Clarion State Teachers College, where he received his BA degree in Humanities. After moving to NYC in 1977, he established a studio on 13th street and began studying Printmaking at the Art Students League. This piece is professionally matted and mounted under glass.
