Classical carved and turned mahogany tilt-top candlestandAttributed to the workshop of Duncan Phyfe (1768-1854), New York, NY, circa 1820.

Condition
one leg with repaired break, and with metal support bracket installed to underside--appears to be an old repair, and a repaired break to edge of same leg- reglued; another leg with inserted wood element to underside, probably a later repair; minor scratching to top surface; age cracks to top of block support; top may be repositioned to wood supports to underside- one support with an additional screw hole; brass latch may be repositioned- has an additional screw hole next to top; slight split to bottom of central turned support; some of surface fluoresces green, but it appears to be an older finish overall
