Description
One Austrian Gold Philharmonic 1 oz. coin. The Austrian Gold Philharmonic 1 oz is a popular pure gold bullion coin which competes with the American Gold Eagle 1 oz and the Canadian Gold Maple Leaf 1 oz.
Introduced by the Austrian Mint in 2008 the Austrian Gold Philharmonic 1 oz is also available in ½ oz, ¼ oz and 1/10 oz sizes. The front of the coin features the Great Pipe Organ found in Vienna’s Golden Hall, the legal tender value of 100 euro the date, one unze (ounce) gold, and the coin’s purity 999.9.
The back of the coin features musical instruments and the legend “Wiener Philharmoniker” (Vienna Philharmonic). These gold coins are among the first denominated in euros and are pure gold (999.9).
This gold coin is striking in its modern design but in keeping with European conservative values and features a reeded security edge.
