Description

Thorens Swiss music box designed by Fred Zimbalist.
Interchangeable disc music box encased in a silver tone chased and hand-hammered metal in the form of a Mughal three storied Indian building having rows of recessed niches on all four sides and set on a stepped base.
All surfaces are engraved with leafy branches and flowers.
Hinged door at the top opens to the Thorens mechanism inside; the lower part of the front facade opens to ten slots for the fifty Swiss Thorens music record discs (5 in each).
Original booklet instructions included.
Approximate weight: 25 pounds.
Dimensions: H: 10 1/4 in., W: 16 in., D: 9 1/4 in.
Condition: Wonderful working condition, great hand-worked case.
Provenance: Bedford, New York estate.
