Description
Chinese, Ming 17th century. A blue and white Japanese market export porcelain ko-sometsuke dish having crane motif and a floral border. Henry Moog label to underside, "H. Moog, Atlanta". Approx. diam. 6". Note: the piece has wearcomensurate with an item salvaged from a 17th century shipwreck including attached barnacles. Possible that this was retrieved from either a Chinese junk boat or a Dutch East India Trading Company ship.
Condition
Examined under blacklight. Minor glazing / firing imperfections. Small chips to rim, some loss to glaze on rim, small stable cracks to rim.
