Description
RARE Winchester Model 1894 25-35 WCF Octagon Rifle
The rifle features a 26 inch octagon barrel, full length magazine, buckhorn sights, walnut stock, and blue'd finish.
The 1894 was one of the most popular of Winchesters models and thousands are still used regularly today.
Most, however, are chambered in the popular .30 WCF (.30-30) caliber with relatively few being made in .25-35.
Considering how few were made in this caliber that was introduced in 1895, finding an example made in the first few years of production (pre-1899) to qualify as an antique is very difficult for the collector today.
This early production 1894 shows excellent blue on the 26 inch barrel with nice uncleaned aged blue on the magazine and receiver, Could use re bluing, screws and fine walnut stock and for end.
Has the popular buckhorn rear sight with blade front sight along with sharp and clear Winchester markings on the barrel and upper tang. This rifle shows good condition.
The mechanics are tight and smooth.
The bore is bright and has strong rifling.
This rifle was manufactured in 1897.
Antique firearm. NO FFL transfer or NICS background check required. The serial number is 94871.
