Charles Euphrasie Kuwasseg (France, 1833 - 1904)
Born in the French Draveil, Charles Euphrasie Kuwasseg (1833-1904) was a student of Jean-Baptiste Durand-Brager and Eugene Isabey. He was influenced by the Barbizon school and created especially landscapes, but also cityscapes and coastal views. He created some paintings in collaboration with Theophile Poilpot.
From 1855, he exhibited regularly at the Paris Salon. He also worked as an art professor. His Austrian father, Charles Joseph Kuwasseg (1802-1877), moved to Paris in 1830, and was also a painter. Works by Charles Kuwasseg can be found in the Musees des Beaux-Arts de Rouen and Rennes, amongst others.
