Robert Pummill (American, b. 1936) Santa Fe Trappers Leaving Bent's Fort (circa 1840) Oil on canvas 40 x 60 inches (101.6 x 152.4 cm) Signed lower right: Pummill PROVENANCE: Insight Gallery, Fredericksburg, Texas; Private collection, Fredericksburg, Texas. Located in what is now the "Four-Corners" area of southeastern Colorado, Bent's Fort was the only Anglo outpost on the Santa Fe Trail between Missouri and the Mexican settlements.
