The signature cut is framed alongside a 7 inch vinyl single for the Billboard Hot 100 hit song "Light My Fire", which spent three weeks at number one on the charts, an 8"x10" photo of the group and a flyer for a July 25th, 1969 performance at San Francisco's Cow Palace. The Doors were among the most influential rock acts of the 1960s, and were the first American band to accumulate eight consecutive gold LPs. According to the RIAA, the group have sold over 100 million records worldwide making them one of the best-selling bands of all time. They were ranked 41st on Rolling Stone's list of the "100 Greatest Artists of All Time," and in 1993 were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. This framed presentation will come with a letter of provenance affixed to the back of the piece, which is handwritten on Sotheby's letterhead and dated January 10th, 1980. Measurements: 17"L x 21"W.
