I lived for a pat on the head from the brides of Jesus. I never, ever had impure thoughts! Then, in seventh grade something began to change in me. Some of those GIRLS over there, these girls who I'd never paid much attention to before... Something about the way some of their bodies were growing, getting bigger... Their school uniforms seemed to fit more snugly. Part of me was growing bigger as well! ... And then some of them would give you this LOOK... they'd SMIRK at you in a challenging way... DARING you to get fresh with them. It was most disconcerting!" -R. Crumb, Nov. 2000.

The back-of-the-box illustration of a sweaty Crumb nervously poking at his figurine while "admiring the fine workmanship of the finished figure" is worth the price of admission alone.
